SmartKids Foundation

This fourth group of children is sponsored by the Eureko Achmea Foundation, all the way through their Junior High School years, from 2009 till 2012. They were selected from 3 regions.

Kuyichiana Miata

My name is Kuyichiana Miata. I am twelve yaers of age. I come from the Upper East Region, precisely, Navrongo but I live at Tamale.I am dark in complexion, tall and slim. I attend Chanshegu Presby Primary School and I am in class six. I live with my aunt at Tamale. My favourite food is “Banku” and pepper with fish. I like basket ball. My hobbies are reading, singing, dancing and debating. My favourite subjects are Mathematics, English, French and Citizen Education. I want to become a journalist in the future. This is because I do well in English than any other subject. I also hope that by becoming a journalist, I would be able to serve the people in my country through informative news. I want to be sponsored by the Smartkids Foundation because my family is facing a lot of financial difficulties. I know that when I get the scholarship and I study hard, I would be able to help my family in the future.

Agbonani Divine

My name is Agbonani Divine. I amm a boy of thirteen years of age. I am dark in complexion. I am a native of Goviefe Agodome but I stay at Hohoe in the Volta Region. I attend school at St. Francis Demonstration Primary School and I am in class six. I want the Smartkids Foundation to sponsor me so that I can secure my education. I want to be a Medical doctor in the future so that I can help in the improvement of the health of people in my country and around the world. As at now, I am insecured of my education because of the jobs of my parents. My mother is an untrained teacher whose salary is not enough, my father on the other hand, is a pensioner. The scholarship from the SmartKids Foudation is my only hope now and it really means a lot to me.

Winful Bagyl-Bac

Winful Bagyl-Bac is my name. I was born at Akatsi, a surburb of Ave-Dakpa in the Volta Region. I am thirteen years of age and fair in complexion. I was born into a poor family. I attend school at Akatsi primary school. My father advices me to study hard and always take his advice. My first term in class six, I was declared as the best student. When my teacher told me about the Smartkids Foundation coming to our region, I was very happy because I knew that was the time to help my parents. My parents struggled to pay my fees. I took the tests and interview held by the Smartkids foundation and I was awarded a scholarship. The people in Smartkids Foundation are very good, kind and God will bless them all.

Bedzrah Godwin Seyram

My name is Bedzrah Godwin Seyram. I am a boy of thirteen years old. I am about 3 feet tall and dark in complexion. I attend Gbi-Central R/C Boys’ School and I am in class six. My father is a mason and my mother is a trader. I have two brothers and sisters. The reason why I want the SmartKids Foundation to sponsor me in my education is, my father does not go to work all the time so if he doesn’t go to work, it becomes very difficult for us to get food to eat. I sometimes have to sell foodstuffs brought from the farm by father at the market before we get money. I want to be secured of my education and I hope the foundation will help me so that I can become a Bank Manager.

Jemimah Annan

My name is Jemimah Annan. I am thirteen years old. I attend school at Esreso D/A Primary school. I am in class six. My mother’s name is Mrs Diana Annan and my father’s name is Mr. David Annan.I stay at Feyiase but i come from Swedru in the Central Region. My mother is a trader and my father is a wood inspector at wood pillar limited.I am the fourth born of my parents.I have four sisters and one brother. I am a Ghanaian. Fante is my language. During my leisure I use to sing. My hobby is to play “Ampe”. And I like reading but I don’t like gossiping. I don’t like children who are stubborn.I want to be a professional teacher because I have interest in it. I want the Smartkids Foundation to sponsor me because I am brilliant and also my father doesn’t have money so he can’t take care of us because we are many. So,I want the Smartkids Foundation to sponsor my education so that in future, I can become the professional teacher.

Wumenyo Mavis Eugenia

My name is Wumenyo Mavis Eugenia. I am a girl of twelve years old. I come from Anloga in the volta Region and I stay at Hohoe. I am attending school at Hohoe Holy Rosary R.C Primary and I am in class six. My father’s name is Pongo Victor and my mother’s name is Kportoe Gifty. My father is a farmer and my mother is also a trader. I am staying with my grandmother who is called Wumenyo Patience who is a farmer. I am a clever girl and in my examinations, I always get first and second position sin the class. The subjects I like best are Maths,English and Science. I like reading story books and like learning as well. I don’t like gossipin g and playing too much and I always comport myself whether in the class or in the house. In my future I want to become an accountant and work in the bank and take care of my parents and my brothers and sisters. The reason why I want the Smartkids Foundation to sponsor my education is that my grandmother is suffering before she cater for us.Even sometimes,food to eat is a problem. I want to become someone great in future to achieve my aim. When I was in class five,we went for a reading competition and I was the first person in the whole of the Volta Region. And I know that when you sponsor me I will surely make it. I want my parents and my grandmother to be happy when you sponsor me, so that she can take care of the rest of them.

Gyamfua Faustina

Gyamfua Faustina is my name. I am a girl of thirteen years od age. I come from Adagya in the Ashanti Region but I stay at Feyiase. I am fair in compexion, and about three(3) feet tall. I am a girl with bushy hair,pointed nose,dark hair,small tribal mark on my left cheek and rounded face. I am at the pupil’s of Esreso D/A Primary School at Esreso in the Bosomtwe Atwiama Kwawonma District. Mr. Justice Amoah Opouku was the headmaster in the School. The Church that I attend is the Presbytarian Church. I am in class six (6). The subject that I like best is Mathematics and Science. I like reading story books and story books which are interesting. I always take 1st,2nd and 3rd position in our class. We are about Ninety-three (93) in the class. Mr. and Mrs Oteng are my parents. They have given birth to three (3) children and I am the first born child of my parents. I like people who always attend school. I hate people who like attending video,funeral,and other things. The food I like best is fufuo and light soup with pork and the game I like best is playing ampe and skipping. I want to be a Medical Doctor in future. I want the Smartkids Foundation to help me and the reason is that I am brilliant but a needy child, and I want them to help to continue my education so that I can be a great person in future.

Amoako Ruth

My name is Amoako Ruth. I come from Bodada Buem. I am eleven years old. I am fair in complexion and 1/2 feet tall. My parents live in Bodada Buem and all of them are traders. The reason why I want the Smartkids Foundation to help sponsar me is that, I want to become a great person in future. But they told us to learn hard because some people who are even better than us are even looking for help but we are very lucky and gotten a help so we must be good in class. They told us that if we don’t back up , they will let us go home. I want the Smartkids Foundation to sponsor me so, I am doing well in class. But first term when we did the exams I was last but this second term, because of what they have told us, I want to become one of the first students in class. Because if I did not back up and they send me home, I will be shame of myself and my teachers and my headmasters will all be ashamed. Because they did not think so. Because when I was in my former school, I am first in class so they will even be surprised about me. I want to be a medical doctor in future. Kponyo-Desmond

My name is Kponyo-Desmond. I am eleven (11) years old. I am fair in complexion. I am in class six (6). I am attending Hohoe E.P. Primary (A) School in Volta Region, I am a christian. I attend Assemblies of God Hohoe. The game I like best is Kokonte with groundnut soup. I want the Smartkids Foundation to sponsor me because my parents dont not have money to look after me, my mother is a trader and my father has died, so is only my mother and she does not have a proper job so that she can use to look after us to achieve our dream. That’s why I want the Smatkids Foundation to sponsor me to achieve my destiny, success, and my dream. So I, Desmond will like the Smartkids Foundation to sponsor me in my education, so that my own is to learn hard and harder. My future I Desmond Kponyo will like to be a Scientist. My name is Sulemana Boniyali Ikram. I am twelve years old and I come from Toling in the Northern Region of Ghana. I attend Wavugu Anglican Primary School. I am in class six. I have a small mouth, head, eyes, and a pointed nose. My parents have four children, two boys and two girls. The food I like best is rice and stew, I don’t like beans. I want SmartKIds Foundation to sponsor me because I want to go a good school so that I will get a good work. I want to be a Medical doctor because I will like to help people who are sick.

My name is Yelyen Marcellina. I’m a girl of 12 years of age. I come from Bolga in the Upper East Region. I am Frafra by tribe. My parents are Mr. and Mrs. Yelyen. The name of the school I attend is Chashengu Presby Primary School. The food I like best is “Tuo Zaafi” with Okro soup. The game I like best is “Ampe” and Volleyball. The reason why I want the Smartkids Foundation to help is that I want to become a doctor in future but my parents are not wealthy enough to cater for my education. I really want to be a great person in future. I want to be a doctor so as to take care of person. God will bless all those who sponsor me.

Judith Tawiah

My name is Judith Tawiah. I am a twelve year old girl. I am dark in complexion. I come from Cape Coast but I stay at Esreso. I attend school at Esreso D/A Primayr School. I am in class six. The food I like best is rice and stew and the game I like best is Volleyball. In the future, I would like to be a doctor so that I can help those are sick. Also, every month I will give 10% from my salary to help other small smartkids that would come after me. The reason why I want Smartkids Foundation to sponsor me in education is that, I want to be a great person in future so that I can help some children too. If I am sponsored, I will read and learn until thy kingdom come.

Nihard Idrissu

My name is Nihard Idrissu. I come from Kadjebi in Volta Region. I am thirteen years of age. I attend school at Kadjebi L/A Alkamade School. I am in class six. I live at Kadjebi with my grandmother. My mother is a seamstress and my father is a driver. The food I like best is Banku with Okro stew. The game I like best is Ampe and football. The reason why I want the SmartKids Foundation to sponsor me is that I want to be an intelligent girl and learn hard. I want to be a doctor in future. I am supposed to learn this three subjects; Maths, Science and English, before I can be a doctor. That is why I want the foundation to sponsor me.

Nana Ama Abigail

My name is Nana Ama Abigail. I come from Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana but I live at Tamale. I attend Elis Lund Primary School and am in class six. I like singing so I sing at Church in the house and at school. I will like to be an accountant in future. Maths happens to be my favourite subject. I always work more Maths questions. My teachers call me Mathematician because without maths I am no way. I want to be like Prof Allotey, he is a great Mathematician from Ghana. I want the Smartkids to sponsor me because I am an intelligent girl and my parents don’t have enough money for my eduction.

Gloria Nti

My name is Gloria Nti. I come from Akumfi Otuam in the Central Region of Ghana but I stay at Akurem. I am a girl of thirteen years old and I am fair in complexion. I would like to be a journalist in the future. This is because I am good at reading. I like reading novels, story books, biographs, newspapers,etc. The reason why I want the SmartKids Foundation to sponsor my education is that I am staying with my mother, younger sister and my Uncle. It is my mother who takes care of all of us and she does not have any well paid job so it becomes very difficult to pay my school fees. My father divorced her when I was about two years old and I want the Smartkids Foundation to help me so that I can achieve my aim in future.
