Henk van Engelen and Ruud Nassette
In April 2013, the ASML Foundation extended the support to the SmartKids Foundation with a donation of € 7,000.
The contract was signed on April 10th in Veldhoven by Henk van Engelen, Chairman of the ASML Foundation and Ruud Nassette, Treasurer of the SmartKids Foundation.
With this donation, it is possible for the ASML group to finalize their study at Senior High school in August 2013.
The ASML group started in 2007 and consists of 13 to 15 SmartKids. The total financial support covered a period of 6 years.
, Well done and thank you very much !!
The ASN group, that started their High School education in 2008 as “the Turing Foundation” group, will finalize the Senior High School in August 2014.
To make this financially possible, the ASN Bank Foundation has decided to donate € 5,000 in addition to the previous donation of € 25,000 .
The support covered a period of 3 years in total.
On behalf of the SmartKids, thank you very much!
After the sudden death of Kees Hoogendijk, founder of, and driving force within the SmartKids Foundation, a hectic period started. The Board Members only then fully realized how much time and work Kees devoted to his dream.
It is almost a mission impossible to fill the gap he left behind. Now that reality is sinking in, the board has to re-shuffle and fill more or less two vacancies. One a replacement International Coordinator and a Treasurer.
Every year the SmartKids Ghana community is organizing an Annual Meeting in Kumasi. This time the meeting will take place on June 2nd, 2012. Like every year Kees Hoogendijk was the representative of the Board of Management in the Netherlands.
Coming up is the first Annual Meeting without him.
Board member Ruud Nassette will travel to Accra and Kumasi end of May/early June. He will try to fill the absence of the “Father” of the community, also that seems a “Mission Impossible”.
‘As for me, everything is possible. You just have to go for it!’
